Wu Wen Chin

Wen-Chin Wu, a saxophonist who graduated from Chiayi Senior High School and Taipei National University of the Arts, is now a student of Arno Bornkamp (Amsterdam Consevatorium). Previously, he was under the tutelage of Mr. Chia-Hsiu Tsai (a former student of John Sampen, professor of Bowling Green State University). Wu began learning the saxophone at the age of fourteen, and had shown great talent amongst all the other candidates who aimed to enter the Taipei National University of the Arts, the best conservatory in Taiwan, in 2005. Wu’s major performance experiences includes saxophone solo, ensemble and new music.

Wen-Chin Wu has wide interests in different areas of music and displays his passion by taking part in music festivals, including the Canadian choir music festival “Powell River Kathaumixw” (as baritone, TNUA Choir) in 2006 and the 15th Saxophone Congress in Bangkok, 2009. Besides classical music, Wu actively participates in various types of art performances. He acted in the play Follies (as “Ben”) produced by TNUA in 2008. In 2009, he was invited to record a commercial album “The Tempted Saxophone of Wen-Chin Wu” by MOS Burger, one of the biggest burger chains in Asia. He even joined the making of theatre music of “Wandering in the Garden, Walking from a Dream” in 2011. He proved his administrative capacity as well by holding the post of President of the Student Society, Music Department of TNUA, in 2006.
