The NAFA Saxophone Quartet is made up of students who major in saxophone performance at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. Since its debut performance in 2013, the quartet has performed at the Singapore Saxophone Symposium 2013 and 2014, the Assisi Hospice Centre, and other venues in Singapore.
In August 2014, the quartet participated in the International Wind Band Festival in Taiwan 2014, organized by the Educational Cultural Centre of Pingjhen City, Taoyuan (桃园县平镇市社教文化中心) and held from 28 July to 10 August. Besides putting up a performance on 3 August as part of an outdoor band marathon, the quartet also had the opportunity of presenting a “flashmob” presentation on 5 August at the Taoyuan International Airport, which was warmly received by locals and visitors alike.
In November 2014, the quartet was invited to Penang, Malaysia to perform and host an educational workshop at the Prince of Wales Island International School, as well as the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). More recently, the quartet has been invited to perform at SaxOpen at the 17th World Saxophone Congress & Festival in July 2015 in Strasbourg, France.
