Orchestra Collective

Orchestra Collective

Orchestra Collective is an independent musical ensemble based in Singapore presenting classical and wind band repertoire. It is a musician-driven initiative by the country’s finest young musicians. At the heart of the ensemble is a simple enthusiasm to draw musicians and listeners into the collective magic of enjoying music together. Camaraderie and friendship remain the most important element of the music-making process for our musicians. Orchestra Collective hopes to continually present new as well as familiar music that will leave audiences with a memorable sonic experience. Orchestra Collective is privileged to make its second appearance at the Singapore Saxophone Symposium, this time presenting itself in two different forms – the jazz ensemble and the chamber orchestra. Orchestra Collective will be making its official debut on 25 September 2014 at the Victoria Concert Hall.

Lien Boon Hua has distinguished himself as a dynamic and versatile young conductor from Singapore. Lien is the Music Director of the award-winning Orchestra Collective in Singapore and led acclaimed performances with them. He is also the Co-Artistic Director of Ad Hoc Music in Rochester, NY, where their concert was broadcast live over National Public Radio affiliate WXXI, reaching listeners throughout Western New York. Lien has conducted both professional and youth orchestras and various other ensembles in North America, Europe and Asia, such as the Fort Worth Symphony, US Military Academy West Point Band, Hong Kong New Music Ensemble and the Singapore National Youth Orchestra.
