He is the Artistic Director for Melbourne Saxophone and The Melbourne International Saxophone Festival, and performs internationally as a soloist and chamber musician.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph is a graduate of The University of Melbourne (Barry Cockroft &amp; Ian Godfrey), the Bordeaux Conservatoire de Musique (Marie-Bernadette Charrier), and the Strasbourg Haute \u00c9cole des Arts du Rhin (Philippe Geiss). He has performed in masterclasses with Claude Delangle, Kenneth Tse, Vincent David, Jean-Denis Michat, Guy Lacour, and Neils Bijl, amongst others.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph has performed alongside some of the top performers and pedagogues around the world, and was the programming assistant for SaxOpen, the 2015 World Saxophone Congress and Festival. He has performed with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, and was a soloist in Melbourne&#8217;s Pro Musica Orchestra, performing Chu Wanghua&#8217;s <em>Concerto for Saxophone and Orchestra<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph has performed and given master classes in Paris at the Cit\u00e9 Internationale des Arts and the Th\u00e9\u00e2tre du Ch\u00e2telet, the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and the Lasalle Contemporary School of the Arts in Singapore, the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the Monash Sir Zelman School of Music, and the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music.<\/p>\n<p>An advocate of new music and combination ensembles, he has preformed world premieres by Jean-Fran\u00e7ois Zygel, T\u00f3mas Gubitsch, Ivan Solano, Javier Mu\u00f1oz-Bravo, Franck Tortiller and Mark Phillips, the French premier of Roger Boutry\u2019s <em>Concerto for Alto and Soprano Saxophone<\/em>, and the Australian premieres of works by Robert Lemay, Fran\u00e7ois Ross\u00e9, Gilbert Amy, Pierre Jodlowski, Mauricio Sotelo and Philippe Geiss. He was featured artist on Australian composer Katy Abbot\u2019s 2010 CD, Sunburnt Aftertones.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph has been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including the 2013 Strasbourg <span class=\"caps\">HEAR<\/span> New Talent Scholarship, the 2012 Australian Arts Council Skills and Development Grant, the 2009 Catherine Grace McWilliam Bequest for achieving the highest result in his Bachelor of Music, the 2009 Donovan-Johnston Memorial Travel Scholarship, and the 2008 Rogowski Saxophone Scholaship.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph has also taught at the Australian Saxophone Retreat, the Melbourne Saxophone Workshop, and the Strasbourg Conservatorium of Music.<\/p>\n<p>Joseph is a D&#8217;Addario Woodwind and Selmer Saxophones Artist, and performs on Series <span class=\"caps\">III<\/span> Alto &amp; Soprano Saxophones, a Selmer Concept mouthpiece, and D&#8217;Addario Reeds.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joseph Lallo Joseph Lallo is an associate saxophone teacher at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music at the University of Melbourne, where he is also completing his PhD.
