Cecilia Ratna

Cecilia Ratna, M. Mus. graduated with a Master of Piano Performance Degree from Jacobs School of Music under Edmund Battersby with full GPA. After graduating from high school, she pursued her Bachelor of Music Degree at Pelita Harapan Conservatory (UPH) under the guidance of Mamoru Yabuki.

During her studies in Indiana, she was the recipient of the “Artistic Excellence Award” and awarded the position of Associate Instructor for Secondary Piano Program.

Her interest in music does not stop at piano alone. As a choir singer, she used to perform together with the Batavia Madrigal Singers (Indonesia) and NOTUS Choir (USA). As a chamber musician, Cecilia has performed in a wide variety of settings, most recently at the Esplanade Recital Studio with ADDO Orchestra, Jakarta Concert Orchestra, Indiana Adhoc Orchestra, and D’Java String Quartet.

Her favorite musical endeavor is collaborating with vocalists and instrumentalists across a range of instruments such as violin, flute, saxophone, and low brass.

Lastly, she believes that the joy of learning and making music needs to be passed down to the next generation. She has been a great enthusiast in teaching, particularly piano, since 2007, and is currently teaching at the NAFA School of Music and School of Young Talents.
